AMERICA WON’T ALLOW THE KILLING OF CHRISTIANS IN NIGERIA - TRUMP
During a press briefing with President Muhammadu
Buhari on Monday, the United States President, Donald J. Trump, said that the
US would not allow the ongoing killings of Christians and burning of churches
in Nigeria, saying that it must stop.
He said this, when he received President Muhammadu
Buhari at the white House for talks aimed at boosting the strategic partnership
between both countries.
The latest incident was the gruesome killing of about
19 persons including 2 priests, Joseph Gor and Felix Tyolaha, in a church in
Ukpor - Mbalom, a community located in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue
State.
Expressing concern over the killings of Christians in
Nigeria, Trump said America would do everything to stop terrorist activities in
Nigeria.
“We’ve had very serious problems with Christians who
have been murdered in Nigeria. We’re going to be working on that problem….
Because we can’t allow that to happen, “Trump said.
He also noted that Nigeria is well known for massive
corruption, adding that the US will continue to offer its support for Nigeria
to find lasting solution to the problem.
“Nigeria has massive reputation for corruption,” “I
discussed it with the president and we agreed to do something on it.
