MICHAEL OLIVER SET TO REFEREE FA CUP FINAL


Though he recently courted controversy in the Real Madrid/Juventus Champions League quarter final, Michael Oliver is set to referee the FA Cup final, and has revealed he was humbled by messages of support after experiencing a “weird few days” in the aftermath of Juventus controversial Champions League exit at the hands of Real Madrid.
Manchester United’s Emirates FA Cup final clash with Chelsea will kick off at 17:15 BST on Saturday 19 May 2018, the encounter will be the 33-year-old’s fourth major final at Wembley.
Manchester United and Chelsea booked their places at Wembley with victories over Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton respectively.
Manchester United, who have won the trophy 12 times, reached a record-equaling 20th final by coming from behind to beat Tottenham 2-1 and seven-time-winners Chelsea beat Southampton 2-0 in the semi-final.
